Our mission is to provide a fine art print lab to serve those who appreciate the unique, timeless, and tactile qualities of silver-halide emulsion photography. The same old-world craftsmanship and artistry goes into our digital work so that we may bring you the best of both worlds in imaging.
Superior Photo & Design features two photographers--Rebecca Zeiss and Clint Burhans--with decades of experience each in many aspects of Fine Art and Commercial Photography, including custom color and black & white printing, traditional silver prints on fine papers and other substrates, and many antique and alternative processes. Clint's experience ranges from shooting the Detroit Pistons, band promos and concerts, fashion, and editorial covers for the notorious ORBIT magazine in and around Detroit in the 80s and 90s. Clint also worked as a second and first assistant at a major national automotive advertising studio in metro Detroit (Guy Morrison/Northlight) with many of the best car shooters of all time, as a supervisor at a major Detroit area custom commercial lab (Meteor), and has owned his own professional photolab in Midland, Michigan since 2003. Rebecca Zeiss, MFA, has been printing and nationally exhibiting her own work, created in a wide variety of archival fine art processes since 2000, and has been teaching these and other arts to students at Kendall Art College, Central Michigan University, University of Michigan-Flint, and Delta Community College in Michigan since 2007. She was Exhibit Coordinator at The Northwood Gallery in Midland, Michigan from 1997-2006 and is very active in the Society for Photoraphic Educators (SPE). They became partners in art, business, and life in 2002.
